What Should Be Done in Treating A Pimple Inside Nose?

Having a pimple inside nose can be so frustrating. It may not be a source of embarrassment because it is hidden. But a pimple inside nose is so painful especially when a person who has it sneezes or accidentally touches his or her nose.

But how does a person get pimples inside nose? The area inside the nostrils is actually prone to infection due to presence of mucus, which makes the area moist and later conducive to infection. Picking the nose is said to be one of the main causes of getting a pimple inside nose. This habit is more common in children, who tend to pick their noses or scratch the area inside the nostrils with dirty fingernails.

However, men also have the tendency of getting pimples on nose. Plucking nose hair, which is usually done by men, may cause having a pimple inside nose. A pimple inside nose may also develop if the membrane inside the nose is accidentally damaged while trimming nose hair.

What can be done when there is pimples inside nose? First and foremost, do not prick the pimple inside nose because this may aggravate the infection in the nasal area. It is also important to avoid using the fingers in applying any ointment or medication inside the nostrils. It is better to use cotton bud than using the fingers in doing so. Some experts even advised that a cotton bud dipped in saline solution or salty water can be applied first to decrease swelling before applying topical antibiotic ointments such as Neosporin.

Oral antibiotics for severe acne may also be taken to treat pimples inside nose. However, it is also important to make sure that he or she is not allergic to these medications. Otherwise, he or she may opt to use products made from natural ingredients such as tea tree oil, which is known to have antibacterial properties.

Everyone can do something to avoid getting pimples inside nose. Eating less sugar-rich foods and more fruits and vegetables can help a lot in preventing this condition because these contain vitamins and minerals that are good for the skin. Increased water intake is also important to avoid dehydration and to ensure that harmful elements are flushed out from the body.

Exercise can also help a lot in avoiding pimples inside nose. Aside from increasing the blood flow that aids in making the skin healthier, exercise also helps in relieving the body from too much stress. Getting enough Vitamin D through exposure to fresh air and sun (beware of harmful UV rays, though.) may also help in keeping the skin healthy, which in turn can help in staying away from getting a pimple inside nose.
